York County Food Bank – York PA

General Information:

A food bank is a non-profit organization that collects, sorts, stores and distributes food to people in need, usually through the collaboration of distribution partners. Few, if any, direct-client services are offered at a food bank.
A distribution partner is a food pantry, food closet, or other agency that directly hands out food to people in need. Partners are very different from food banks, as food banks primarily just sort and store food to then distribute to the partners.
The York County Food Bank has approximately 125 distribution partners. Refer to the “Distribution Partners” tab under “Partner Agencies” to see an interactive distribution partner map and find the nearest distribution center to you.
The York County Food Bank receives some funding from the state government, but the majority of support stems from the generosity of individuals and local businesses in York County. Distribution partners assist with operating expenses through an established shared maintenance fee program.
The York County Food Bank is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3 pm. The distribution floor for people with vouchers is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 2:30 pm.
