2019 Hunger Free Mondays!
Baseball was played, food was donated, and goals were rocked out of the park!
Another season of York Revolution baseball coming to close as the red hot Revolution enter the playoffs. That means our 8 Hunger Free Monday are complete. Hopefully you were able to come out to at least one of the Hunger Free Monday games! If you did, you helped us BEAT our 2,000 pound food donation goal. We cannot thank you enough for your support this summer, you truly made a difference in helping us keep our shelves stocked over the summer months!
Last year, United Fiber & Data presented Hunger Free Mondays with the York Revolutions to benefit the York County Food Bank. We collected over one thousand pounds of food to feed our hungry neighbors over the course of the three Hunger Free Monday games. This summer we more than doubled our 2018 food donation total!
Their are approximately 50,000 York County residents, including 17,000 children, who do not have a consistent supply of and access to nutritious food. The food we receive from these events had a dramatic impact on our ability to ensure our neighbors do not go hungry during the summer months. 100% of York City School District students are eligible for free or reduced priced lunch which means a lot of parents will be forced to prepare extra meals during the summer. This is an enormous burden on thousands of families that must figure out how to provide an extra 2 meals for their children 5 days out of the week!
