The York County Food Bank’s annual Give-A-Meal program was once again a tremendous success! The Give A Meal Program is a joint venture between the York County Food Bank and area school districts that seeks to provide holiday meals for families who cannot afford them. Participating school districts host food drives for non-perishable food goods, and volunteers from the Food Bank package these goods into holiday meals for local families. Through this program, many families who are not usually able to afford traditional holiday meals are able to enjoy them.
12 York County Schools Districts participated in the program this year and were a tremendous help with collecting the nonperishable items needed to provide 2,000 holiday meals!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped support this program! Hundreds of people dropped off food at our location, participated in one of the awesome holiday events, volunteered to pack boxes, or sent in a donation to make this the success it was.
Only through you were we able to provide 2,000 full holiday meals in December!
