Helping end hunger in York County.
The York County Food Bank is a central serving hub that collects food from a variety of sources and then equitably redistributes this food to our 125 plus agencies or organizations. These organizations include other 501 C-3 non-profit groups, shelters, churches, senior centers, schools and various community centers.
Thanks to the generosity of corporate, organization, individual donors, and government programs we currently provide over 2 million pounds of food and household items annually. The food donations that we receive come from a variety of sources. A large portion of the food that we receive is generated from food drives or fundraisers that are conducted by individuals, organizations and corporations. We are also fortunate to receive donations from various food manufacturers, retails, wholesales and distributors. We often get donations from them due to surpluses in production, discontinuation, imperfect or underweight packing, quality control, approaching expiration dates & additional reasons. We also contract with York County to receive federal government food or funds to purchase food that are not often donated.
We and our partner agencies rely heavily on monetary and food donations. Due to the current economic conditions our distribution partners are requiring more support than ever from us. At the same time donations are significantly down. Your community needs your assistance and support to survive these challenging times. Please take a moment to review the DONATIONS section of our site.
