Holiday Help

Christmas Emergency Fund

Your donation will bring us one step closer to a Hunger Free York!

Each holiday season, the York Daily Record offers readers the opportunity to help our community through the Christmas Emergency Fund

Many residents of York County have struggled to put food on the table as inflation has driven up grocery costs, with some items costing upwards of 10% more this year.

The holidays are a time for food, family and generosity, but it’s hard to enjoy the home and hearth if the cupboard is bare. And food insecurity extends well beyond the holidays for many people.

That’s why the York Daily Record has chosen the York County Food Bank as the beneficiary of this year’s fundraising effort. For more than 30 years, the York County Food Bank has espoused the principle that food is a basic human right, distributing millions of healthy meals each year. Last year, the food bank gave out more than 4.4 million pounds of food.

You can help increase that by giving generously.

Other Ways to Help During the Holidays

Donate

Monetary donations are one of the best ways to support us. With monetary donations, we can purchase food, put gas in our trucks, support our partner pantries, or purchase more refrigerated space for fresh foods.

Volunteer

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. We rely on the support of volunteers almost every day to make our work possible. You can join our hardworking team of volunteers by signing up for a shift online.

Food Drives

You can create your own virtual food drive on our website. You will receive your own customizable fundraising page with a sharable link where donors can "shop"for food items to represent monetary donations.
